Each class has a maximum of 7 people. Because of being such a small group of students, a very friendly atmosphere is established, which I am sure, makes learning easier. It is also allows me to be aware of your progress in class.

Each lesson is held a Saturday and a month apart. That way you have plenty of time to review what you have learned.

This Beginner's Course is for those who have very little knowledge of Astrology, except perhaps for a general interest or quite good knowledge of the different characteristics of the Zodiac Signs. Once you get into Astrology you will realise there is more to it than this.

When a Horoscope is calculated, the Zodiac positions of all the planets in our Solar System are taken into account. The Sun Sign, (most people know of their own), represents the lessons you are to learn in this life - what you have to become. The Moon Sign, however, is an extremely accurate indicator of one's habit patterns, characteristics that are very well developed and automatic. Most people have their Sun and Moon in different signs. The only time these two are in the same sign is once a month, for 2 days, when we have a new moon. To know a person's Moon Sign is to know what drives them.

Mercury's Sign, shows the way the person thinks and makes decisions. This is often in the same sign as the Sun but not always. The Sign of Venus explains the way the person relates, the type of people they attract, how they treat money, how they earn their money and what they enjoy. Mars Sign reveals how the person is motivated, their energy level. These five planets, The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars are the Personal Planets. They are closest to the earth and Sun. Their cycles are quite fast hence they change Zodiac Signs quite frequently. This means people are born with all sorts of varieties as to the positions of these planets - this creates individuality.

The Outer Planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto stay much longer periods of time in the one Zodiac Sign. This means many people are born with these planets in the same sign. However, it is how these planets link with the personal planets that brings individual differences. The cycles of these outer planets herald the periods of major change in life.

To begin with you will learn about all the Zodiac Signs and the Planets. It is these two things that are the whole basis of Astrology. You will be working with your own Horoscope and those of the rest of the class.

There is a reference book, which lists the positions of the planets for everyday of the century. You will learn to read this, which is quite easy. Once you know how to do this you will be able to look up any person's date of birth and see where all the personal planets were positioned. This will enable you to have far greater insight than just their Sun Sign. Once you know their habit patterns (from the Moon) and their manner of thinking (from Mercury) etc., you can understand where they are coming from. It will bring out more patience in yourself in your dealings with them, even people you find difficult. There are reference books giving interpretations on the Zodiac Signs and Planets. I stock a very good beginners book. With these two reference books, you have a very sound basis to gain insight into yourself and others.

This is maybe all you want to do with Astrology but if you want to go further, you will learn to predict future cycles and how particular areas of one's life will be influenced and for how long. You can look back over life as well as into the future.

You have the choice of eventually sitting for exams to gain qualifications. This is not a necessity of joining the classes though and is not available in the earlier stages. If you decide to sit for qualifications, as part of your preparation for this you will be taught to consult. Doing a consultation forms part of the exam. It would take 5 to 6 years of learning to get to the stage of developing this ability.

I would love to see you choose to journey down this path of enlightenment that Astrology has to offer. From the earliest stages you will be amazed at what Astrology reveals and whether you do it for a little while or a long while, it will help you to understand yourself and others, like nothing else can. Without a doubt, knowledge of Astrology changes peoples lives for the better.
