There are 7 year cycles, which form the basis of experience in every person's life at particular
ages, regardless of what Zodiac Sign etc. a person was born under. All the personal factors in an
individual's own Horoscope modify the way these 7 year cycles are handled but does not and cannot
avoid, what is to be, at certain stages of life. These are called the
Generic Cycles of Uranus.
First 7 year Generic Cycle - Birth to 7 years of age
Complete and utter focus is upon the individual at this stage. This focus is primarily from the
parents because of the child's total dependence for its every need. The child thinks only of
themselves and their own needs. There is no perception, from the child's point of view, that they
should consider anything but themselves. There is a sense of future in relation to growing
up and that the grown up world is is another dimension altogether - big and unknown.

Second 7 year Generic Cycle - 7 to 14 years of age
Personal values begin to emerge. In most cases, life is very much involved with other children
of a similar age. This stimulates an awareness of differences, particularly in the early years
of this cycle. There is still the automatic focus on oneself but not necessarily the response
they are accustomed to receiving from the nurturing quality of their first 7 years. This leads
to choices of whom they like and whom they do not like and their own reasons why. What one likes
is what they come to value in life. Many definite likes and dislikes are established within the
individual at this stage of life. The person will establish a strong opinion to any major
changes, which occur in their life during this cycle. They will always maintain a high degree
of awareness to any circumstances of a similar nature, at any future stage in their life.
There could be great inflexibility to what they decided, the opinion they formed, at this age.

Third 7 Year Generic Cycle - 14 to 21 years of age
The stage of the gaining of knowledge. The beginning of this cycle corresponds to the onset of
puberty and the desire to break the bonds of dependence. Part of this process will generally
involve thinking that one knows better than those who are older. A lot of questioning as to what
one thinks, as opposed to what other people think usually takes place. This is a time where many
personal decisions are made. The latter years of secondary education, leading to tertiary
education or work, involves plenty of learning and the need to make decisions. One has to learn
to communicate with others, whether they like them or not because it could have quite some
influence on their own future.

Fourth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 21 to 28 years of age
This is the time of the establishment of a foundation upon which to build one's life. This is a
period of commitment to something that the person considers important and necessary for their
future. In some cases, this will be to a partner, in forming a marriage and perhaps starting a
family. In other cases it will be to a career or business direction. Complete development or
total accomplishment is not to be expected in this time but establishing the groundwork is
absolutely necessary.
However a person manages the challenges in their life during this period will be a strong
indication of their future abilities and success. It is not the level of success one feels they
attain at this stage of life, which is important, but how one copes, even in difficult
circumstances. This forms the basis of personal determination or otherwise. A person who
avoids any sort of commitment at this stage will probably spend the rest of their life doing just
this, one way or another.

Fifth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 28 to 35 years of age
The creative urge is strong, which can manifest in many different ways, depending upon the
circumstances of one's life so far. A person will feel they have to "create" something out
of their life. There is an element of risk taking during this period. The desire to enjoy
life is also strong. If a person has married and had children in their early 20's, they will
often feel they have missed out on the fun years and will become quite restless in wanting to
make up for lost time. Those who have not married or had children will generally begin to
think more seriously in this direction. The maturing cycle (stimulated by the planet Saturn)
also takes place in this cycle, between 29 and 30 years of age. This means that whatever one
"creates", they will have to be prepared to take responsibility for it. This often does not
become obvious until later because true maturity is not yet developed and the choices made in
this period will play a large role in teaching one that they have to take responsibility for
their actions or choices.

Sixth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 35 to 42 years of age
This is a very analytical cycle. Life, by this stage, has generally settled into a predictable
routine, which one may begin to question. If a person is truly settled with their life situation,
they now have the opportunity to fine tune and perfect their methods or routines. They will
become quite expert.
If, on the other hand, a person feels their life is stagnating, going nowhere, they will become
frustrated which can lead to all sorts of worries and aggravations. There is a tendency to be
very fault finding with oneself and to accept any putting down type actions from other people.
Any health problems at this stage are a sure sign of bottled up frustration or worry. This is a
time to analyse what one has done so far in their life and what one wishes to do in the future.
Does the past fit with future desires? If not, what has to be altered?

Seventh 7 Year Generic Cycle - 42 to 49 years of age
This is a major turning point in life. This cycle is predominantly relationship based, which can
work out in many different ways. By this stage of life one has reached their mid life crisis
cycle which occurs generally at 40 years of age. This is established with Uranus becoming exactly
opposite to the position it held at birth. One becomes quite radical where their own desires
and sense of self satisfaction is concerned. This quite changes one's relationships in life.
It can mean endings and new beginnings with relationships. It can be a complete changing of
habit patterns within a relationship, which one feels is necessary for a much greater sense
of personal self-satisfaction. One may begin to express how they really feel rather than
conforming to what has been expected of them. One may venture into different directions,
which will bring them into contact with either more people or different types of people.
The strongest occurrence is a lack of concern about what other people think.
Without a doubt, this is the time in life where people learn what relationships are really all
about. By the time a person reaches 50 years of age, they have a totally different perspective
about relationships.
Relationships are not simply referring to love relationships - it is all sorts of people one needs
to deal with in their life. Dealing with others is relating. By the time a person has journeyed
through this period in their 40's, they have learned to look more logically at the different needs
involved in certain types of relationships.
Before this period in life there tends to be a presumption that a relationship will provide a
certain outcome. Once this cycle is finished the individual should be furnished with the
knowledge that nothing should be presumed. Because there is this strong individual sense that
this is who and what I am, the same logic is generally applied (or should be) to others one is
dealing with. This leads to greater consideration of any adjustments that would need to be made
or any factors that need to be overlooked to enable the relationship to by and large run
harmoniously.
In other words, by the time a person has completed this 7 year cycle they have normally come to
the realisation that there are certain things about themselves they will not compromise. If there
is any consideration of entering a new relationship at this stage or in the future, they should
realise that any other person, from 50 years of age onwards, will also feel the same way about
themselves. Virtually, what you see is what you get. This provides a more realistic basis for
ascertaining the true possibility of success of the relationship.
Within this 7th Generic Cycle occurs the first repeat of another significant Generic Cycle of the
planet Saturn - this is the puberty cycle. The first time this occurs is between 14 and 15 years
of age. The second time is between 44 and 45 years of age. This return of the puberty cycle,
which is encompassing all the life experiences in between, places one in a situation of sorting
out feelings and relationship issues they didn't quite get on top of when so young. It is quite
common for a person's first love to enter their life again, giving them the opportunity to view
that person in a more realistic light. Even if this does not occur one is often challenged with
issues that have a basis that go back to this period of time in their life - namely 14 to 21 years
of age (in the 3rd Generic Cycle of Uranus). The interesting thing is that at both stages, then
and now, there is an underlying rebellion taking place. A greater degree of subtlety is generally
present now but this will be largely dependent upon the degree of maturity developed.
What frequently occurs in between the Mid Life Crisis Cycle at 40 years and the repeat of the
Puberty Cycle at 45 years is for a long-term marriage or relationship to suddenly break down and
a new more exciting one to instantly take its place. This 5-year period is a very risky time to
do such things. Better to wait until one is over 45 years of age (for reasons in the above
paragraph) before settling down in a new relationship. A different perspective begins to emerge
from 45 years of age.
There can also be a strong desire to leave a marriage or long-term relationship and become
independent of it. How this will impact financially can have a strong bearing on the realistic
possibility of being able to do it. Tied in with this can be generally one person's lack of
ability to be able to support themselves financially, should this path be taken. As a result one
can come to the realisation, for the first time in their life, that relationships are interwoven
with many factors that don't allow a clear cut division to take place. To avoid complete
frustration and a continuous sense of being trapped, one needs to find ways of developing their
sense of individuality within the situation. It requires a change of perspective where the
relationship is concerned. Part of this can be developing more equality. Generally not an easy
thing to do but can be done by utilising the sense of rebellion in a positive, yet subtle way,
by no longer accepting situations that give a sense of inferiority.
Long-standing relationships very rarely move through this period without difficult issues
surfacing. Some relationships break down, leaving at least one person feeling free to move on in
life with the thought of finding a more satisfactory situation. Other relationships stay together
with one person determined to create more freedom within the situation. What has been is gone -
new horizons beckon.
If a person gets to 40 years of age without settling down, this can be the time they suddenly meet
the right person and it happens, almost overnight. This can be a shock to others who know them
because they have come to accept this person will probably never settle down. Under these
conditions this is generally not risky, mainly because this person has given much thought,
over a long period of time in their life, to the qualities they are seeking in a partner
they believe they could settle down with. All the thought they have applied over the years
allows them to quickly recognise the right person with the right qualities.

Eighth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 49 to 56 years of age
This is the stage of transformation. To the person who has become much more enlightened, what
once seemed so important is no longer. This person is aware of the different viewpoints they now
hold compared to their younger years in life. They know that "as you sow, you shall reap". They
become much more conscious of what they are now "sowing". Meaning, they analyse the possible
outcomes of certain decisions they might be considering. They look before they leap.
Of course there will be some who are not terribly enlightened at this stage of their life. They
generally do not accept that their life situation has been brought about by their own choices.
Their form of transformation is a sense of lost opportunities and an even deeper crystallisation
of viewpoints they have long held. This begins to manifest as illnesses with all sorts of
limiting effects. To a person who sees their life as having very little purpose, this is the
beginning of their physical "death". It may take many years yet to fully reach its conclusion,
involving much physical and mental suffering along the way.

Ninth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 56 to 63 years of age
One very much appreciates the level of wisdom attained through life's experiences. There is a
feeling of great understanding. It has become understanding in an overlooking fashion. One is
able to sit back and fully comprehend the results people can expect from certain attitudes and
actions. They also realise situations and circumstances in which their advice will make very
little difference. One, in this age group, will very generously give their advice, even their
involvement when they feel it will be appreciated and will be of good.
To a person whose transformation in the previous cycle has been towards a deeper crystallisation
of narrow points of view, this cycle brings an even greater "growth" of this narrowness. They
will experience very few people appreciating or wanting to listen to what this person considers
the wisdom of their years of life. This leads to greater levels of frustration and a pointless
purpose to life.

Tenth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 63 to 70 years of age
The wise person knows what the game of life is all about. At the basis of all experience is the
need for commitment and responsibility. All results are based upon this simple foundation. The
wise person can easily recognise what other people are learning from their situations in life,
why certain circumstances have developed. They also know it is that person's own responsibility
to deal with it. The person will learn nothing if the experience is taken away from them. There
is still this willingness to impart one's knowledge and understanding to those who are willing to
listen. There is not an expectation though that advice will be followed exactly. This person
knows that every individual should be left to modify knowledge to suit their own needs. They
stand back and let this happen.
The person who has taken the narrow- minded path of life will now try to have control over other
people's circumstances. They will fail miserably.

Eleventh 7 Year Generic Cycle - 70 to 77 years of age
The wise person feels very peaceful, very free. There is a definite realisation that their
physical life could come to an end any day and it is best to live life purely as one wishes.
There is no expectation placed upon life itself, only to take each moment as it comes. To enjoy
whatever brings pleasure from life, which is often, quite simple things. Much pleasure will come
from one's associations with other people, family or friends. The desire to gather material
things is almost non- existent. There is more a wish to give things away to those who could
make more use of them in their life.
The crystallised person will feel ever more strongly that life has very little purpose, nothing
to offer. They will often make the comment "I may as well be dead".

Twelfth 7 Year Generic Cycle - 77 to 84 years of age
The wise person fully realises their whole existence has been dependent upon a power much greater
than themselves. They know they are on the verge of a journey into the unknown but at the same
time realise there is nothing to worry about.
The crystallised person on the one hand may seem very ready for death but there is an underlying
fear. Even for them, the choice seems out of their hands.

From 84 years of age onwards.....
The cycles start again but instead of the person being a child and having parents to rely on, as
is the case from 1 to 7 years of age, the situation has reversed. It is now a child or children
who the parent needs to be able to rely on, one way or another.
Just as there was a big unknown world to explore in the future in the 1st Generic Cyle, so does
the sense of this return. In this case though it is the world to explore when death occurs.
Even in the mind of the child there is a sense of the eventual death of being a child one day
and becoming an adult.
